Children share ASAP ideas with Baglady Rachael

Children share ASAP ideas with Baglady Rachael

The school children and teachers were very excited to experience the screening in the mini cinema created on their school stage and Bagladys Rachael and Iris, talked about the environment with the children, exploring ideas around Living ASAP = As Sustainably As Possible.
They had some fantastic ideas about what they could do to make the environment better from trees to saving water, protecting their environment and caring for each other
After the screening classes P4 – P7 at Currie’s Primary School, took the ASAP pledge and this is what they are pledging to give up

Throwing litter on the ground 13
Leaving appliances on at night or when going out 6
Fighting/bullying 2
Graffiti 3
Getting lifts to school/shops 2
(in their words stop driving to the shops/school)
Breaking tree branches/pulling flowers up 7
Turning water off when cleaning teeth 9
Wasting paper 1
And what the children pledged to take up to help the environment
Picking up litter/stop throwing litter 21
Walking more 3
Reuse/recycle paper 5
Stop breaking trees branches/pulling up flowers 2
Turning the water tap off 2
Turning off lights etc when not in use 7
Watering plants/reusing water to water plants 2
Make an Eco friendly car 1
Our favourite is from the boy who is going to give up 'grafitting' and is going to 'make an eco friendly car'
