Stay in Green Caravan inspires Baglady

Just had a blissful week in my rented Green ASAP Caravan, owned by the lovely Kim Arndell, at my favourite seaside spot in Australia: Coledale, on the NSW coast south of Sydney.

Solar panel lights the van at night and the crash of waves lulls Baglady to sleep… I didn’t do much work that week, a lot of sleep and dreaming walking and even a little fire on the beach

BUT

one of those darn new surveys is out, telling us [based on 1500 people]

NATION NOW ‘INDIFFERENT’ TO ENVIRONMENT as the Sydney Morning Herald reports it.

They talk about Climate Change a lot here, especially on ABC radio. But the sharing of info on what to do, and how, is pretty rare.

Ah well, something to fill up Baglady’s days when she’s not looking up from down under to see how sustainable Northern Ireland is….

Meanwhile the first school invite’s in, and Baglady’s fixed to meet her local MP Roza Sage, about Living ASAP, on Midsummer’s Day, June 21st…. be there, ASAP…

I’m very busy with ASAP, SASAP, MASAP, TASAP and all the other SAPs and we need your help

soon you’ll be hearing the voices of the amazing excellent boys of Lurgan St Paul’s Junior High School. They’re among thousands of schoolpersons speaking out loud and clear now, on environment and sustainability issues. Well done those boys!!

We already have the answers! we just don’t quite realise it. Watch these spaces and feel free to join in wherever you see a space for YOU. Our MLAs are doing it, our MPs, our Mayors, our councils, Limavady, Ballymoney the latest; + our businesses…. and our wonderful local papers – keep reading them, they keep our communities alive.

But you know, we’re all a bit rusty sometimes on what to do, and how, so we’ve all got to help each other.

Baggileak 1: oil pollutes Braid River, Ballymena

OIL. Saw it, smelled it, reported it.

When I phoned the River Pollution Control Hotline today about 4pm, I learned that NI Environment Agency staff had been investigating the leak since yesterday. It was shut off at source about 3pm but residue was still pouring into the river. Legal action seems likely.

Does everyone know that petrol and oil leaks from cars in the street end up in our rivers, too? And fish don’t like them.

Let’s look out for Northern Ireland rivers.
