Enniskillen: Best Recyclers in NI

Fermanagh council has the highest rate of recycling in the UK. But kids from Ballinamallard PS and Scoil Chroí Ró Naofa Clones (Irish Republic) say we’ve still got a way to go to meet their own high standards.

Trillick: Positive Pester Power

Today we visited Trillick, where, after Baglady’s visit last year, shopowners and school pupils alike decided they wanted to be Northern Ireland’s first plastic bag-free town. Bernie and Malachy at the village Costcutter reduced their plastic bag usage by 75% in only 2 weeks, helped in no small way by the amazing efforts of the local school kids. See what’s happening now, as well as a very exciting statement from local Sinn Fein MLA Barry McIlduff.

We had a great day on Saturday! A huge thanks to everyone who came along, and all of you who were unable to attend and sent us messages of support. We had them all on display on our message wall.
